What kind of company is DESIGN INSIGHT?
DESIGN INSIGHT (디자인인사이트 주식회사) is an architecture and interior design firm founded in March 2022 in Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do, Korea. It carries out interior design for public projects such as public libraries, schools and public agency offices. For its own design practice it develops SnapCOST, an AI construction cost estimating platform, and runs several AI agents together on the SnapGRID environment.
What projects has it designed?
The YouTube channel @desinsight publishes videos of public library projects (Sanggye, Jungbong, Hamyang, Miryang Municipal English, Taereung Eoullim and the Hwaseong reading culture space) and school projects (Daegok High School, Eco 1 Elementary, Ungchon Elementary and Seosa Middle School). Public agency and office projects such as the Pyeongtaek Office of Education relocation and the Gyeonggi Provincial Garden visitor center are also published. Why does a design firm build an AI platform?
Because the design team itself has to revise takeoffs, BOQs and ordering documents every time the design changes, and to trace quantity evidence back to the drawings. SnapCOST links drawings and room data (building, floor, room) to the BOQ, quantity takeoff, specifications and CXD evidence as one set of project data, and DESIGN INSIGHT refines it on its own public library and school projects. Outputs are confirmed by a person before they are finalized.
Can I commission AI agent development?
Yes. DESIGN INSIGHT accepts commissions for AI agents and workflow automation in architecture and construction, and consultations on adopting SnapCOST. An inquiry starts with a description of your work; after reviewing sample drawings and existing takeoffs together, the scope, schedule and cost are agreed. Where can I see actual outputs and screens?
The SnapCOST about page (cost.snapcodex.com/en/about) explains the features question by question, and the public sample page offers the sample BOQ and quantity takeoff (Excel and PDF) of the anonymized project 00 Library Remodeling without signing in. Amounts in the sample are ratio-converted and are not actual construction costs. Screens of the features in operation are in the SnapCOST videos on the YouTube channel @desinsight.
